Teaching him "Speak" has apparently backfired right at this moment, and he would not give up until I satisfied his need to play. He did eventually settle down after a game of toss with his football.
But, that didn't last long. He decided to settle in Onyx's favorite cardboard box and eat it.
I decided I needed to give him a time out in his crate to settle down for real. Soon, he curled up blissfully in his blankets for a much needed nap.
And Onyx got his box back.
BOL so much energy!

That's what I wind up doing with Fred, putting him in his crate for a time out!
ReplyDeleteOnyx is a patient cat. My Taki would have defended her property quite aggressively even if it is only a box.
ReplyDeleteDelilah is persistant when she wants ANYTHING, whether it be play or food! LOL gotta love them.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Tag your it!

It always seems like teaching them to speak is a good idea until they actually learn it:)
ReplyDeleteI think Indiana's message was pretty clear!! Tee Hee
ReplyDeleteSometimes I have to resort to those measures too when my Mum takes to long to go out for our morning run - I have no idea why she isn't in the same rush I am!! :)
Big wags,
Your pal Snoopy :)
He, he, I do the barking thing when my mom is trying to sleep. That box looks pretty comfortable, by the way!
ReplyDeleteYour pal, Pip
He and Onyx are both so cute in their box
ReplyDeleteThat's just adorable. Our dogs here in the Philippines have so many similarities with the Basenji breed. Their bodies are also lean and they also have short hair.
ReplyDeleteIndiana, not the box! It's not yours, remember? And besides, that's not just a box. IT'S A POKEBALL DISGUISED AS ONE.
Helen, nice timing on the video. You got it spot on.
Huggies and Cheese,
Haopee
Oh dear, never teach a dog to bark, lol.
ReplyDeleteI spend most of my time trying to shut ours up.
Indiana is such a lovely dog and Onyx reminded me of our cat we used to have, you could not leave a box around or he would pinch it :)

That's so so funny! Grrrr....PLAY with me! Rrrrrrrr PLAY! RRrrrrrr NOW! And the way he scratches the carpet when it does that is just too cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the way Indiana barks. It's very controlled. As befits a basenji perhaps? Can you imagine if he and Georgia got together and did their barking trick? Headaches all round :)
ReplyDeleteWoof! Woof! I've seen many of my furry friends in a box ... got to try it! Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
ReplyDeleteWe taught our brittany to speak and it was a bad mistake, lol
ReplyDeleteThey are both so cute!
ReplyDeleteStewey
Love the waggy tail! :)
ReplyDeleteSlobbers
What an awesome pair.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like the most comfortable box on this side of the Mississippi!
